Description

This wine stopper is hand carved by Ben Heniger in 1998 (signed on neck BH98). SIze: 5"

The stopper was created based on the following legend.

The Legend of Carat Top
One mystic morning, in the most magical corner of New Orleans, Carat the guardian of good spirits awoke to a terrible surprise.  Something had taken the tops from all her magic bottles.  Carat knew she had to seal the bottles quick , before all of her good spirits escaped.  Immediately she set out to find her bottle stoppers; but after a hard day of flying she became tired, and made a wrong turn.  As she flew over the Colorado River, she spotted a young cow hand riding his pony across a pasture.  She decided to stop and ask directions.  The young man informed Carat that she was no longer in Louisiana, she had ended up in Texas.  Carat followed young Ben back to the house.  While Ben was getting directions, Carat started exploring around the barn.  She stumbled upon the young man's work shop.  As soon as she saw his wonderful sculptures, she knew she had found something far better than she had ever dreamed.  Carat knew with Ben's help she could create Corkers so unique and magical, that anyone who saw them would be so overwhelmed with joy and happiness they would not try to remove them from her magic bottles ever again!
