Collection of rare antique National Geographic hardcover books.
Thirteen books total. They contain every National Geographic Magazine from 1907-1913 and a half years worth from 1905 and 1906.
The three green bound books are full years for 1907, 1908 and 1909.
National Geographic was a text-based scientific journal about geography until 1905, when the magazine published a photo essay on Tibet. So these are the oldest issues of National Geographic that contain photos.
I have read and been told that there were only 200 of this set printed but I am not certain.
The brown binding is unusual; it may even be a unique or much smaller private run.
Very rare to have this many National Geographic books this old together.
Each book is full of 150-280 high quality photos, illustrations and maps with accompanying text.
The 1913 Machu Picchu Peru discovery issue book sells for $200 or more alone.
Look into this one and you will see the replacement value of this set is enormous.
